Have you seen some unfamiliar faces around CMS in the past few weeks? Has your child mentioned a name that you don’t recognize?
This may be because we have hosted some wonderful Montessorians who are in the process of completing their teacher training hours. Ms. Rosie worked with Ms. Tina’s class, Ms. Julia worked with Ms. Christina’s class, Ms. Stefka worked with Ms. Beckey’s class, and Ms. Debra worked with Ms. Laura’s class. At some point during their time at CMS, each of these trainees stopped me in the hall or popped into my office to share how wonderful their experience was. They felt a warm welcome from all of the staff, and, most importantly, they gushed about our amazing teachers. Here is a kind note that I received just this week which sums up their comments overall:
I have had such an incredible experience observing and now practice teaching at CMS! I feel very grateful and fortunate for this opportunity and want to thank you and your staff for accommodating me on such short notice. CMS feels like a second home and being with Ms. Christina was meant to be. She is an incredible guide for the children and I have learned so much these past two weeks. I look forward to visiting CMS again and seeing you and your incredible staff.
With Heartfelt Gratitude,
Hosting student teachers is not only a great opportunity for our school to be able to support the larger AMI (Association Montessori International) community but also for us to learn about current concepts and ideas circulating in training programs. These trainees will be the future teachers in Montessori schools across the country, and we are happy to be an influential part of their journey!
